Dair Ghaelach (Gaelic - spoken Daar Gählock) means Irish oak.
A single pot still whiskey from the Midleton distillery, bottled in barrel strength.
First, the Whiskey aged 15-22 years in American Oak exBourbon barrels, then he received a second maturation in new Virgin Irish Oak Hogsheads.
The wood for these barrels comes from the Ballaghtobin Estate in Kilkenny, Ireland.
Aroma: intense spicy, paired with sweet vanilla - with chocolate, honey and roasted coffee beans - then it gets fruity: red berries, pineapple and ripe bananas
Taste: soft and spicy, clearly oak, cloves and cinnamon - then come Fudge, milk chocolate and warm apple compote
Departure: exceptionally long finish - sweet and spicy - again the oak
