After more than 11 years maturing in an exBourbon barrel, Gordon & MacPhail left this Caol Ila for another 18 months in an exSyrah wine barrel from the Hermitage appellation in the Rhone Valley.
Aroma: sweet with clear red cherry, strawberry and redcurrant - with some peat smoke
Taste: again the ripe, red fruits, soft and very nicely rounded - the peat smoke comes through again
Finish: a long, fruity finish with a persistent peat note
