With a phenol content of 208ppm, this is one of the world's most heavily peated malt whiskeys.
Bruichladdich distils this whiskey in memory of the old Islay distillery "Octomore", which was located above Port Charlotte.

Aroma: clear sea air, some toffee and citrus fruits - then more and more peat smoke and fruits - especially peach and apricot, a little vanilla and nut - in the background tobacco
Taste: velvety-soft mouthfeel with lots of peat and elegant sweetness, again the fruits, honey and vanilla - old leather and herbal notes
Finish: very long finish with peat smoke and sea salt - again vanilla, with oak
