These venerable brands were forever lost - until now!
The Lost Distillery Company is independent and wants to bring the old names and their whiskeys back to life.
For this purpose, historical documents with a lot of research are used to create new interpretations of these long-forgotten whiskeys.
Used for these whiskeys young and old barrels, which give a taste profile that corresponds to 15-18 years old whiskey.
Jericho Distillery was founded in 1822 by William Smith in the Scottish Highlands.
Jericho was supplied with water by the nearby Jordan Burn, locally grown Bere variety and locally pricked peat, which gave the whiskey a hefty note of heather.
The whiskey was stored in former sherry casks.
Although Jericho made it to the 20th century, but the very poor transport links and thus lacking contracting a well-known blending company in 1913 finally meant the end for the distillery.
Aroma: dark fruits, moist highland meadow and some peat
Taste: the dark fruits become more intense, you can taste the sherry, raisins and fresh cakes, heather and peat
Finish: mid-length finish, with an elegant sherry note and a hint of peat

Hier könnte die Idee zur Neuauflage alter Sorten die Kaufentscheidung beeinflussen. Die Reifung in 300 Ltr. Fässern ergibt einen etwas öligen, reich an Aromen und betont Sherry lastigem Geschmack. Als Blend sehr gut gemacht. Der Torfrauch rundet das ganze ab. Im Ganzen ein gelungener Whisky der Jericho Destillery und der Lost Distillery Company.
