James MacTaggart, Master Distiller at Arran, created this single malt - the claim was to highlight once the lighter side of an otherwise so lively island whiskey.
This whiskey sparkles with sweet fruit notes.
Lochranza is the home village of the 1995 founded distillery Arran

Nose: a fresh island character and the typical Arran citrus flavors, then fresh pear and honeysuckle
Taste: again the very well-balanced citrus fruits, with a slight vanilla sweetness and apple
Finish: long finish with sweet oak and spices, rounded off by a thin layer of milk chocolate

überraschend viel Geschmacksbandbreite

Dieser Whisky ist sehr gefällig und dürfte jedem Whisky Liebhaber schmecken, ähnlich wie z.B. ein Glenmorangie. Allerdings entdecke ich hier im Arran überraschend viele Geschmäcker wie z.B. Fruchtnoten, Salz, und Holz. Extremer Torf ist hier nicht zu finden, was ich als gefällig bezeichne.
Meine Favoriten sind eigentlich die Islays, aber für den leichten Genuss wird der Arran in meiner Liste stehen bleiben, besonders wenn ich auf den Preis schaue.
Ich kann den Whisky aus der Lochranza Destille nur empfehlen.

überraschend viel Geschmacksbandbreite

Der zweite Arran, den ich genießen durfte, hat mich sehr begeistert. Vielleicht liegt es daran, dass ich den ersten zu flach fand und dementsprechend meine Erwartung nicht sonderlich hoch war. Aber dieser Reserve hat mich rundum begeistert.
Dieser Whisky ist sehr gefällig und dürfte jedem Whisky Trinker munden. Ähnliches sage ich auch über einen Glenmorangie, allerdings hat dieser Arran mehr Bandbreite, mehr Geschmacksvariationen, etwas fruchtig, etwas würzig, ein klein wenig bitter, aber weit entfernt von den tprfigen Islay Whiskys, die ich so liebe.Er eignet sich bestimmt für Einsteiger und erfüllt meine Standards, Single Malt, ohne Farbstoff, non chill-filtered, moderater Preis.
Wer nicht ausschließlich die extremen Geschmäcker sucht, dem sei dieser Whisky empfohlen.

Dieser Whiskey braucht eine gewisse Zeit im Glas, um sich dann Nase für Nase und Schluck für Schluck entfalten zu können. Ich habe auch noch zwei Tropfen Wasser dazugegeben. Insgesamt ein angenehm duftender und weicher Tropfen mit süßlichem Abgang. Leider kann man bei der Bewertung keine 3,5 vergeben...

Super klasse Malt. Ähnelt sehr an den Tomatin Legacy.
