One of the oldest Glenglassaugh bottlings! This single malt whiskey matured for 40 years, matured in a former Manzanilla sherry keg and bottled in February 2014 at 497 bottles.
The barrel was chosen by Master Distiller Billy Walker, the bottles are individually numbered and packed in elaborate gift boxes - including tasting notes.
Aroma: wonderfully intense, yet elegant sherry character - plums and dates are clearly recognizable, then orange soda and traces of anise
Taste: A balance between citrus freshness and rich, dark chocolate, then sherry-heavy, dark fruits
Finish: some grapefruit and oak spice with a surprising citrus finish at the end
Distilled: 05.12.1973
Bottled: February 2014
Cask No .: 6801
Edition: 497 bottles with individual numbering
