Liquid Gold Awards 2015

The distillery Stronachie was already in the 1930s, a victim of the "Whisky crisis".
Due to high grain and cabbage prices, the distillery had to stop production at that time, but in the 1950s it was almost completely demolished.
Today only a few walls near the small town of Forgandenny in Perthshire in the Highlands are reminiscent of what great whiskey was once produced here.

Today AD Rattray fills under the name Stronachie Single Malt Whiskys, which correspond to the style of the distillery.

Nose: soft honey aromas, earthy heather and a malty sweetness
Taste: soft and elegant, again honey and biscuits, then pepper and cereal notes
Finish: perfectly balanced, soft finish

Ich kenne diesen Whiskey bereits. Finde ihn sehr mild und nicht zu scharf.

Eigentlich ziemlich genau wie der 18-jährige, nur spürbar jünger, relativ herb, weniger fruchtig , weniger süß und flacher. Der 18-jährige ist runder, weicher, komplexer und klar besser. Trotzdem ist der 10-jährige in der Preisklasse um 30 ¤ einer der besseren Whiskys. 2,5 Sterne.

sehr angenehm, angenehme Süße Aromen , aber auch trotzdem kräftige Geschmacksnuancen wie leichten Pfeffer. Im Abgang eine herrliche Harmonie der unterschiedlichen Geschmacksnuancen. Sehr lecker und bekömmlich ... bin schon auf den 18jährigen gespannt
