The Georgetown Trading Company has resurrected this classic of the American whiskey world.
The brand "1776" actually exists since 1776, the Pepper family produced whiskey until the 1950s.
The most dazzling figure in the family was Colonel James E. Pepper, a bourbon aristocrat who competed in horse racing, traveled with his private railroad car and introduced the world to his cocktail "Old Fashioned".
After years of research, the company Georgetown Trading Co. has collected the old recipes and revived the 1776. The stated goal is to produce the new whiskeys in the old style.
The result is a lively bourbon with a wonderful sweetness, with notes of vanilla, some chocolate, honey and cloves
