Only 243 bottles were bottled by this Auchentoshan from the Scottish Lowlands.
The independent bottler C & S, with the help of Bowmore distillery owner Brian Morrison, has a very good hand for excellent barrels!
Color: rich yellow gold
Aroma: clearly Auchentoshan, the citrus fruit is undeniable! here it is ripe orange, with a nutty note and dark malt, a little mint and rosemary - a very exciting mix
Taste: a real hammer! a fruit basket of orange, berries, banana and cherries, with brown cane sugar, a pinch of Provencal herbs and white pepper - and no wood - with a whiskey over 22 years old
Finish: very long and warming, fruit and sweetness, some pepper
A little water makes the fruit notes in the nose clearer and more present, the nut is gone
In the mouth it is creamier and a little sweeter, a very exciting variant, goes well with and without water
Proof that Lowland whiskeys are by no means thin and mild, but can be really big whiskeys!
