Gordon & MacPhail fills this Strathisla under license, hence the old original label on the bottle.
Strathisla, founded in 1786, is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland.
The water draws Strathisla from the nearby source Broomhill, which was already used in the 13th century by Dominican monks for beer brewing.
The Speyside distillery is considered the most beautiful in Scotland.
Aroma: intense sherry aromas with notes of dried fruits such as prunes and raisins, plus Demerara sugar and a hint of cedar wood
Taste: soft and mouth-filling in the taste, again clearly the sherry, in addition to spicy notes such as aniseed and licorice
Finish: the finish develops in the taste, very long-lasting
Distilled: 17.11.1960 and 19.11.1960
Bottled: 28.02.2012
Barrel Types: First Fill Sherry Butt # 2537 and First Fill Sherry Hogshead # 2552
