With a peat content of 167ppm, this is one of the most peated malt whiskeys in the world.
Bruichladdich distils this whiskey in memory of the old Islay distillery "Octomore", which was located above Port Charlotte.

Aroma: at the beginning unmistakable sea air and moist seaweed, paired with oily aromas - then the peat smoke comes through, in addition ground black pepper, in the background heather, lime and some mint
Taste: at first weak, then more and more pronounced a note of roasted barley comes to the fore, in addition to vanilla, walnuts and toasted rye bread - then fresh lime and grated apple
Finish: unbelievably long, warm finish, the peat smoke and the distress remains unbelievably long preserved

für einmal war es okay, eine zweite Flasche nein, da man sowieso immer verdünnen muss und dann auch auf andere torfige Hersteller zurück greifen kann, die preiswerter sind

Der Octomore 06.1 ist einer der am stärksten getorften Whiskys aller Zeiten! 167 ppm Rauchgehalt überwältigen alle Sinne. Ein unglaublich kräftiger und imposanter Whisky, der mit 57% vol genug Potenzial zum Verdünnen bereithält. Dieser Octomore wurde aus 100% schottischer Gerste hergestellt und reifte in Bourbon-Fässern. Man muss jedoch ein Fan dieser Serie sein, um diesen Preis bezahlen zu wollen und sich dann auch noch daran zu erfreuen.
