Tullibardine ripened this single malt for 12 additional months in former Spanish Sherry-Butts, each containing 500 liters (hence the number on the label).

Nose: Toffee and ripe apples, then spicy aromas and brown cane sugar
Taste: again the toffee, cooked fruits honey and some cinnamon - in the background dates and spicy allspice
Finish: long and very creamy on the finish with clearly toffee and butterscotch - almonds ground over all

Aroma: recht wenig, Eiche, etwas Früchte

Geschmack: süß, viel Würze, ordentlich Holz, Bitterschokolade

Abgang: mittellang und immer die dunkle Schokolade aber gut abgestimmt

Kommentar: Die Sherrysüße kann sich nicht durchsetzen. Bitterschokolade und Holz überwiegt. Trotzdem eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Eine absolute Sherry (wohl Oloroso, definitiv kein PX)-Bombe, fast schon zu deutlich für manche. Dadurch aber sehr leichter, frischer fast säuerlicher Ton. Guter Entree für einen Whisky Abend mit Freunden..

Dieser Whiskey war ein Geschenk für meine Frau. Während ich eher ein Freund von Laphroaig bin, kommt sie an torfige und phenolige Whiskeys nicht heran. Der 500er Tullibardine ist ein sehr runder, fruchtiger Whiskey mit einer schönen Sherrynote, der an einen guten Cognac erinnert. Geschmacklich nicht mein Favorit, aber handwerklich sehr gut gemacht. Meine Frau liebt ihn.
