Aberlour fills this single malt whiskey without cold filtration.
This means that the whiskey is filtered at normal ambient temperature over a metal sieve, so that only residues are collected from the wooden barrel; Flavorers such as fats and oils remain in the whiskey and thus support the aroma and taste of the whiskey.
The whiskey was stored in former sherry and bourbon barrels.
Aroma: initially fruity - citrus and wild strawberries - a little vanilla
Taste: again a lot of fruit, now it is ripe, red fruits, in addition sweet notes of toffee and chocolate, some cinnamon - the sherry influence is noticeable
Finish: long finish with sweet and spicy notes
