Glengoyne has filled an approx. 60-70 year old cask of the Spanish Bodega Tradicion in March 2011 with an already 12 year old Single Malt Whiskey.
This malt whiskey now matured for another 1.5 years in the Pedro Ximenez barrel from Spain.
The influence this barrel has taken on the whiskey is clear.
The sherry that has been maturing in this very barrel for over 20 years is included in this set!
You can not compare the influence of a sherry cask on a single malt whiskey more clearly!
The drinking temperature of sherry is 10-14 degrees Celsius.
Unopened, the sherry is stable for years, open up to 12 months.
It should be stored like whiskey, standing and protected from light at room temperature.
Tasting note of Glengoyne Single Malt Whiskey
Aroma: Prunes, a lot of caramel, honey and eucalyptus
Taste: rich and sweet, dried figs, again caramel, almonds and pears
Finish: powerful and long, dates and chili
