Only a handful of barrels bought the Scottish distillery Glenglassaugh from the oldest winery in the Crimea.
Massandra has been growing wine in Crimea since 1894.
A dessert wine made from white grapes is also grown here, aged for two years in the barrel, the alcohol content is then 13-16% vol.
The Muscat grapes have a great influence on the single malt whiskey.
Aroma: intense wine aromas, lime and chocolate with berries, charred oak and licorice
Taste: medium body, sweet berries, again limes, sultanas and chocolate, followed by syrup and oak
Finish: gentle, dark berries and citrus fruit
Distilled: February 1973
Bottled: July 2012
Edition: 308 bottles with individual numbering
