Once a year, the Springbank distillery distills a limited number of Longrow malts. Longrow was, just like Glen Scotia and Springbank, a distillery in Campbeltown, which belongs to Springbank today.
The Longrow is still a completely independent Malt, it is distilled with higher peat content and thus has a completely different taste.
He also has the typical Campbeltown saltiness.
Longrow Red - Cabernet Sauvignon Finish
This peat-aged Longrow first matured for seven years in exRefill Bourbon barrels, then matured for another four years in fresh exCabernet Sauvignon hogsheads.
The wine barrels are from the Australian winery "Angove's Long Row"
Aroma: sweet at first, aromas of raspberry jam and rose petals, then the peat aroma comes to light, to cherries, red grapefruit and blood oranges
Taste: peat !! Oak and leather, a little tobacco and salt, only later the influence of Cabernet Sauvignon to advantage - here clearly blackberries and cinnamon
Finish: long and peaty, the proximity to the sea is clearly visible, soft fruity notes
Edition: 9,000 bottles
Like all Springbank bottlings, Longrow is not cool-filtered (non-chill filtered) and has no dyes.
