Renegade Rum Co. (Murray McDavid) was founded in 1997 and specializes in bottling a wide range of single malts in short runs.
The bottlings are without exception of a captivating quality, which is not least due to the fact that Murray McDavid such greats as Jim McEwan (Master Distiller Bruichladdich), Mark Reynier, Simon Coughlin and Gordon Wright (a member of the Springbank clan) together to have!
Awarded several times by various whiskey industry institutions, Murray McDavid stands for exclusivity and the highest quality.
Murray McDavid offers his whiskeys exclusively without dyes and without cold filtration.
The malts are in ideal drinking strength with 46% vol. bottled (only exceptions are bottlings in barrel size).
Under the highest quality standards, four to six barrels of a vintage of a distillery are selected and bottled in the in-house bottling plant at Bruichladdich on Islay.
Since December 2000, Murray McDavid has been the proud owner of the distillery Bruichladdich.
On each bottle are the dates of the rum, as well as a small story for bottling.
Rum has been distilled in Guyana since the mid-17th century.
In the heyday of rum production in the 18th and 19th centuries, there were over 200 distilleries in the small country on the East African coast.
Today, only the Diamond Distillery exists, which over time has assembled the best equipment and stills of the closed distilleries.
