Kilkerran eight Year Old - Glengyle Distillery 46% vol. 0,7l
Glengyle was founded in 1873 in Campbeltown by William Mitchell.
The distillery fell victim to the great whiskey crisis in Campbeltown in 1925. For over 75 years, the distillery stood still until the descendants of the founders, Winifred Ewing and Hedley Wright, decided at the turn of the millennium to bring the distillery to life again.
The production houses were completed in 2002 and successively the "Mashtun", the "Stills" and the "Mill" arrived.
On 25.03.2004 it was finally time, the distillery Glengyle solemnly opened its gates again.
Eight years after opening, Kilkerran's bottling becomes "work in progress" (the name "Kilkerran" is a derivative of the Gaelic "Ceann Loch Cille Chiarain" and refers to an early Christian settlement of Saint Kerran, on the grounds of today's Small town Campbeltown) presents the fourth tasting of this old distillery.
Kilkerran is a lightly punched, twice distilled golden yellow malt.
Very nice aromas of homemade jam, unbelievably luscious aromas of oranges, rhubarb and ripe pears, plus the sweetness of brown sugar and honey.
The taste of soft toffee, fudge and cream.
The finish is sweet and spicy, with traces of aniseed and liquorice.

Very god clean taste. Smoth and fairly long end. I will absolutely by it again when the 10yo is here. Good handcraft.
