The distillery operated by the Irish immigrant Henry McKenna since 1855 was one of the most popular brands in the United States in the 19th century.
The whiskey was famous for its quality, which was undoubtedly due to the fact that McKenna sold his whiskey, at the age of less than three, unlike other manufacturers.
During Prohibition, the distillery was shut down, the stocks were sold as medical alcohol.
In 1941 the distillery was sold to Seagram, in 1976 it was demolished.
The brand name was taken over by the distillery Heaven Hill.
Aroma: warm pastries and nutty flavors, behind them freshly baked bread, spicy oak and black cherries in the background
Taste: soft and mild in the taste, a light sweetness of cherries and marzipan, again the nutty and spicy notes
Finish: long, slightly sweet finish, the spicy oak notes are preserved for a long time, with notes of dried herbs

Sehr komplex. Mit ein bisschen Wasser und 20 Minuten im Glas kommt eine tolle Vanillenote, dazu Eiche, Kräuter, Nougat, Orangen- und Himbeernoten. Klasse!
