Bruichladdich Black Art Edition 03.1 22 Year Old 1989/2012 48.7% vol. 0,7l
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
Bruichladdich 22 years Black Art - 1989/2012 - Edition 03.1
Aroma: vanilla, chocolate-covered raisins, traces of warm Christmas cake and mulberry wine - then dates and walnut.
Adding water, the aroma changes completely - now clearly plums, ripe blueberries, a hint of cinnamon and aniseed, followed by oak and soft, sweet vanilla flavors. In the background then mango, pear and papaya.
Taste: here again you will find fruity notes, such as plums and raisins, dark chocolate and light oak notes with a hint of soft vanilla.
Finish: a long, warm finish - the vanilla and the Christmas cake are back!
A Malt for late evening hours!
