Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1950 as a blending company.
The core business is still old-fashioned blends - the main markets for Douglas Laing & Co. are Latin America and Asia.
Since this business has been declining since the mid-90s, it has been decided to fill the best malts from its own stock as a single malt.
This resulted in the high quality "The Old Malt Cask" series as well as the "McGibbon's Provenance" series.
Littlemill "Old & Rare" - Platinum Selection
Littlemill is probably the oldest distillery in Scotland, founded in 1772.
Littlemill was closed in 1992, before that there was already a period of rest from 1984 to 1989.
In 1996, the distillery was partially demolished, the remaining buildings were listed and are for sale.
Aroma: at the beginning "clean" and fresh, with lots of fruit, creamy vanilla and barley sugar
Taste: creamy in the taste, again a lot of fruit, sweetness and spicy notes, especially ginger
Finish: The finish is medium long, again spicy, then dry with a soft cedar note
Data of bottling
Distilled: November 1991
Bottled: January 2012
Edition: 214 bottles
with individual numbering
