Brora 1982/2010 Refill Sherry Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice 43% vol. 0,7l
Gordon & MacPhail is probably the most important independent bottler in Scotland.
Gordon & MacPhail has vast stocks of barrels from almost all distilleries, the stored vintages date back to the 30s.
The most famous series by Gordon & MacPhail is the Connoisseurs Choice with over 40 different bottlings.
There is also a Cask Strength series and bottlings under the name Spirit of Scotland and Speymalt.
One thing all the bottlings have in common is the very high, excellent quality.
Brora
The history of this Northern Highlands distillery is a bit confusing.
It was built in 1819 under the name Clynelish and retained this name until 1969.
The previous year, 1968, the owners had a second distillery, also opened with the name Clynelish.
So they decided to rename the first distillery in Brora.
It was here until 1983 with some interruptions produced, since it is used as a warehouse for the new distillery Clynelish.
Brora is called only the whiskey from the old distillery, which was produced here from 1969 to 1983.
In the transitional period, between opening the new and renaming the old distillery, both produced under the name Clynelish.
Aroma: dried fruits, floral aromas, cinnamon notes
Taste: some peat smoke and traces of sherry wood
Finish: fruity and medium long
Distilled: January 1982
Bottled: October 2010
