Mortlach eight Year Old Single Barrel "ceramic bottle" Douglas Laing "Premier Barrel" 46% vol. 0,7l

Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1950 as a blending company.
The core business is still old-fashioned blends - the main markets for Douglas Laing & Co. are Latin America and Asia.
Since this business has been declining since the mid-90s, it has been decided to fill the best malts from its own stock as a single malt.
This resulted in the high quality "The Old Malt Cask" series as well as the "McGibbon's Provenance" series.

Mortlach Single Barrel - "Premier Barrel"
In 1824 Mortlach was founded in Dufftown / Speyside.
It is the oldest of the seven distilleries in Dufftown.
For a short time she belonged to the Grant Brothers of Glen Grant, who put her off.

In 1854, George Cowie took over the distillery, he later became mayor of Dufftown and hired the young William Grant, who worked there for another 20 years, before he became self-employed and founded with Glenfiddich one of the most successful professional lives worldwide.
Today Mortlach belongs to United Distillers.

The malt is very balanced for its age - a light sweetness with spicy notes, in the taste sweet barley and honey.

Single Barrel Bottling!

The ceramic bottles of the Premier Barrel bottlings were inspired by the "good old days" of the Victorian Music Hall.
The bottles were modeled after the Whiskeycantern of the late 19th century.
In fact, these look more like old-fashioned hot water bottles that keep warm in cold winter nights.
A job that this single malt can still take on.
