Founded in 1810 on the Isle of Jura, Jura produced in the early days of a very heavily peated, almost uncooked malt.
In the 60s of the 20th century, the distillery was equipped with larger stills by the then owners "Scottish & Newcastle Breweries", who produce a milder whisky.
Today, the distillery is owned by the Kyndal Group.

Nose: fresh with soft, malty flavors, moist hay and some peat - a hint of oak and anise
Taste: mouth-filling, now even more cereal notes, with fudge and again anise - creamy soft - then honey and caramel - in the background licorice and roasted coffee
Finish: long finish with winter spices

Geschmack: süß, malzig, buttrig, ölig, leicht kräuterig, irgendwas undefinierbares aber lecker

Abgang: lang (7/10) und ölig

Kommentar: Gefällt mir sehr gut. Schön ölig und buttrig mit Süße und etwas Würze. Ein toller Standard!

Das ist Jura, wie es leibt und lebt, die Insel, das Dorf. Viel Natur, rauher Wind, sanft streicht die untergehende Sommersonne über die Felder und die See und wärmt alles nochmal durch. Einfach gemütlich, sanft, mild streichelt Jura 10 years Origin den Gaumen und die Zunge, lässt seine edlen Zutaten erahnen ohne sie zu betonen. So lässt man es sich gern gut gehen im einzigen Pub von Jura, lässt den Tag genüsslich ausklingen und freut sich auf den nächsten (...Abend).
