Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
Finished in Kosher Wine Casks of the Carmel Winery in Israel
The whiskey matured for 14 years in ex-Bourbon barrels and then received a finish in wine barrels of the award-winning Kosher winery Carmel from Israel.
This bottling was originally intended only for the Israeli market.
A small contingent has nevertheless found the way to Germany.
