Product information "Rebel Yell 40% vol. 0,7l - old design"

The Rebel Yell Distillery is located in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky.
Since 1849, a Kentucky Straight Bourbon is fired here.
The big difference with other Bourbons is the fact that wheat is used here rather than rye, as in other bourbon distilleries.

The result is a full-bodied Bourbon Whiskey with notes of honey, butter and dark fruits like raisins and plums.
The finish is untypically long and warm for a bourbon.

Leider recht jung

Der Rebel Yell riecht für mich nach Honig und die offiziellen Rosinen, offenbart aber auch sofort eine Schärfe, die sich auch auf der Zunge fortsetzt. Der Whiskey schmeckt nach leicht süßen Rosinen, auch ein paar Gewürze sind wahrnehmbar. Der Abgang ist recht flach und geschmacklich verbleibt im Mundraum nach sehr kurzer Zeit nichts mehr. Der Whiskey erinnert mich asuf Grund der in der Nase und im Geschmack deutlich präsenten Schärfe an einen Jim Beam White Label, den ich aber weniger süß in Erinnerung habe. Ohne es genau zu wissen, würde ich auf einen recht jungen Whiskey tippen, auch die Farbe des Whiskeys ist für einen Bourbon sehr hell.
In diesem Preissegment gibt es meiner Ansicht nach klar bessere Bourbons (Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey) deutlich mehr Aromenfracht (Wild Turkey) oder ohne diese junge Schärfe (Buffalo Trace).

Ein Kentucky Straight Bourbon gekonnt aus Weizen gebrannt. Mal etwas anderes, wenn man sonst nur peated Malt mag.

Schöner Alltagswhiskey und Namensgeber für den gleichnamigen Song von Billy Idol.
Der traf mal in einem Hotel auf die Rolling Stones als die diesen Whiskey eimerweise konsumierten. Er hat mitgetrunken und es hat ihm so gut geschmeckt, daß er spontan sagte, einen Song mit diesem Namen zu schreiben. Was daraus wurde, ist allgemein bekannt.
