Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1950 as a blending company.
The core business is still old-fashioned blends - the main markets for Douglas Laing & Co. are Latin America and Asia.
Since this business has been declining since the mid-90s, it has been decided to fill the best malts from its own stock as a single malt.
This resulted in the high quality "The Old Malt Cask" series as well as the "McGibbon's Provenance" series.
Glenlivet "The old Malt Cask"
The valley of Livet (Glenlivet) is considered the centerpiece of Speysides.
The distillery Glenlivet is the oldest and arguably the most prestigious brand in this region of Scotland.
Glenlivet, founded in 1824, produces a very elegant and malty malt that develops an unlikely abundance in old age.
A balanced whiskey with very nice sweet notes of tangerines and other soft fruits
The taste is round, sweet and spicy, orange peel and dark chocolate.
The finish has a spicy character with lots of oak and orange again.
Bottling from a sherry butt.
Data of bottling
Distilled: April 1996
Bottled: October 2009
Edition: 432 bottles
not cold-filtered
without dyes
