By Highland standards Glen Garioch produces a fairly peaty malt. Bourbon and sherry casks are both found in the 12-year-old single malt: the bourbon wood brings vanilla and heather, the sherry casks dried apricot and dark honey. A fine touch of peat smoke stays in the background.

Damals. 2014. Sandra hat uns diesen Single Malt im Aberdden Airport probieren lassen. Eine prima Empfehlung, der wir nun nochmal nachgekommen sind. Und er war wieder genauso gut.

Momentaner Preis: 35€
Aroma: Waldhonig, Bienenwachs, Rosinen. Später (Birnen-) Früchtebrot, geröstetes Malz/ Brotkruste, Schokolade und Heidekräuter. Dahinter schwingen Eichentöne die sich mit Vanillekipferl und Orangenaromen mischen mit. Nach einiger Zeit kommen immer mehr Haselnuss- unf florale Noten zum Vorschein.
Geschmack: Vollmundig, pfeffrig, Honigsüße, Karamellpudding, Marmelade, und seichte Walnuss.
Abgang: Lang, würziger Waldhonig bzw. Honig und Kräuter, Eindrücke von dunkler Schokolade, Bienenwachs, dann Karamell und Orangenschalen.
Kommentar: Ein wunderbar runder Whisky mit vollem Körper. Abgefüllt mit 48%. Was will der Whiskyliebhaber mehr. Neuster Geheimtip! Kaufen! Kaufen! Kaufen!
