Duncan Taylor has its roots in Glasgow, formerly a major broker in the whiskey market, Duncan Taylor is now established as an independent bottler.
A few years ago they moved to the Speyside, they founded their own warehouse, where malts from almost all Scottish distilleries from many decades can be found.
Black Bull - 40 years - Deluxe Blended Scotch Whiskey
Black Bull is produced since 1933.
For the first time, a 40-year-old Black Bull was bottled in November 2009 - this batch!
The blend consists of:
90% single malt whiskeys
10% single grain whiskeys.
80% exBourbon Casks
20% ex Sherry Casks
For this bottling 40 to 44 years old whiskeys of the following distilleries were used:
Bunnahabhain, Glenfarclas, Glenlivet, Glenburgie, Highland Park, Miltonduff, Springbank, Tamdhu and Invergordon.
The result is an exclusive blend with wonderful aromas of chocolate, Turkish honey, rhubarb, lime and dark cherries.
A lot of sherry in the taste, very gentle with pronounced notes of chocolate and red fruits.
On the finish a lot of cherry with a little cinnamon, a clear sherry note with a pronounced creaminess.
