1263 King Alexander III In 1263, a member of the Clan Mackenzie rescued King Alexander III from a stag that threatened to impale him with a single arrow. Out of gratitude to the clan, King Alexander III allowed the Mackenzies to wear a deer head with the motto "Cuidich 'n Righ" (Gaelic: "Help the King") in the clan crest. For a long time Dalmore belonged to the Mackenzies and so every bottle adorns the head of the Zwölfender!
