Fact Sheet: Edradour Mug at a Glance
- Coffee or tea mug: From the Edradour distillery in the Scottish Highlands
- Height: Approx. 9.5 cm
- Diameter: Approx. 8 cm
- Brand: Edradour
Profile: What Makes the Edradour Mug Special
The coffee or tea mug comes from Scotland’s smallest distillery: Edradour lies in the Highlands near Pitlochry in Perthshire. It is approx. 9.5 cm high and has a diameter of approx. 8 cm.
Edradour was founded in 1825 as a cooperative of local farmers, after the Excise Act of 1823 had made legal distilling more attractive. The distillery lies in a small valley on either side of the burn that supplies its water and is regarded as the smallest traditional distillery in Scotland still working by hand – with only around twelve casks a week. The water comes from the springs of Ben Vrackie. Since 2002 Edradour has belonged to the independent bottler Signatory Vintage.
