Tomintoul was built in 1965.
The distillery produces a light, pleasantly spicy malt.
With the "Old Ballantruan" Tomintoul produces a truffed Speysider in the traditional way. The malt is filled with an alcohol content of 50% and without cold filtration.
Aroma: heather and floral notes, plus a pleasant smoky note
Taste: clearly malty and traces of citrus fruits
Finish: smoky and peaty with a hint of sweetness from the malted barley
