Glendronach was founded in 1826 by James Allardice (1780-1849) and was owned for a time by the William Grant family.
Since 1960, Glendronach is owned by Teacher & Sons - and so the malt also plays an important role in the teacher's blends.
Glendronach's 18-year-old is a Highland malt matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.
Named after the founder of the distillery - Mr James Allardice (1780-1849)
Limited edition with individual numbering: Lot # 1 April 2009 - 6,600 bottles!
Distinctive sweet aromas of toffee, fruit compote and glazed cherries - very complex.
In the taste strong notes of crushed fruits and spices, very nice to taste the Oloroso-Sherry, paired with roasted walnut bread and orange chocolate.
