Laphroaig's 18-year-old Single Malt Whisky, matured in exBourbon-Barrels - now rarely sown and not much to find.

Nose: roasted toast at first, some salt and orange - with light aromas of coffee beans, then fruity - with smoke and light peat
Taste: wonderfully rounded, very mouth-filling, light wood tones and again the peat smoke - dark chocolate, plums and star anise - in the background some sea salt
Finish: very long finish - now the oranges and sea salt again - some licorice and herrings

Ein sehr ausgereifter und vollmundiger Laphroaig! Rauch und langanhaltender Geschmack halten sich wunderbar die Waage; einer meiner Lieblings-Laphroaig.

Karamell und Gewürze verbinden sich mit Seegras, Früchten, Salz und Torfrauch. Im Geschmack die typische Eiche. Langer und rauchiger Abgang.
In meinen Augen ein Spitzenwhisky.

Spitzenwhisky, im Duft eher unspektakulär, insgesamt aber äusserst komplex und bereits in kleinen Mengen genossen sehr unterhaltsam und befriedigend ;-) wirklich etwas für besondere Momente und zum Geniessen. Scheint mit abnehmendem Füllstand und zunehmendem Kontakt mit Luftsauerstoff an Aroma zu verlieren ! Also einmal angebrochen auch wirklich öfter genießen... Sehr gut zu salziger dunkler Schokolade weil sich ergänzende Aromen !
