Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.
Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.
For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.
For a full 21 years, this malt matured in exclusive Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.
The result is a nearly decadent, rich malt with wonderful strong nut and raisin tones!
