Gordon & MacPhail
Gordon & MacPhail is probably the most important independent bottler in Scotland.
Gordon & MacPhail has vast stocks of barrels from almost all distilleries, the stored vintages date back to the 30s.
The most famous series by Gordon & MacPhail is the Connoisseurs Choice with over 40 different bottlings.
There is also a Cask Strength series and bottlings under the name Spirit of Scotland and Speymalt.
One thing all the bottlings have in common is the very high, excellent quality.
St. Magdalene (Linlithgow)
Founded around 1800, the distillery of St. Magdalene has been shut down in the Lowlands since 1983.
St. Magdalene is located in the village of Linlithgow, once the seat of the Scottish kings.
There are also bottlings of this distillery under the name Linlithgow.
Today there are apartments in the old buildings.
Atypical for a Lowland distillery is the fact that at St. Magdalene the whiskey burned only twice, as well as untypical the relatively high peat content.
For a Lowland an unusually complex and deeper Malt.
A wonderfully soft malt with a slight hint of lemon.
