The Prelude: 05 is the fifth bottling of Swedish malt whiskey in a series of six bottlings to be bottled in the coming years.
Each edition will feature a specific section in the new history of Swedish whiskey.
Preludium: 05 was first stored in 200-liter drums, then 100-gallon Swedish oak barrels, old sherry and bourbon barrels, and new American oak barrels.
The barrels are stored at 50 meters depth in an old mine.

The result is an amber-bright malt with a reddish background.
The bouquet is slightly roasted with traces of vanilla, dried fruit and honey, in the background a slight smoky note.
The taste is spicy with strong sweet vanilla from the burnt out barrels.
In the finish a touch of oak and strong spicy notes.

Mackmyra Preludium: 05 is bottled in barrel strength, free of colorants and not cool filtered.
