Invergordon 42 Year Old 1965/2007 Celtic Heartlands 49.6% vol. 0,7l

Jim McEwan's Celtic Heartlands
Under this name absolute old exception barrels of different distilleries are filled.
Jim McEwan is a co-owner and master distiller of Bruichladdich, and a partner in independent bottler Murray McDavid.
This barrel was filled in beautiful glass decanters, marked with a Gaelic symbol.
The glass carafe is firmly embedded in a noble case covered with black imitation leather with magnetic lock, which is lined with black velvet.

Invergordon
Founded in 1959, Invergordon (located in the eponymous port city) is still the only Grain distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
In the period from 1965 to 1977, the malt whiskey Ben Wyvis was burned here.
Unusually, but even more interesting, is the filling of a grain whiskey as a single, plus a single barrel with such an old age.
Invergordon is the only grain whiskey to be offered as a single (since 1990).
An outstanding filling with intense aromas of fino sherry, nougat and sweet oak, followed by honey and light, floral notes, banana, roasted pineapple and caramel.
An incredibly long and complex finish.
Bottled on Islay by Bruichladdich Distillery.

This bottling is in cask strength and of course not cool filtered and free of dyes.
