Founded as early as 1798, Blair Athol was considered one of Scotland's greatest malts until the 1970s.
Wrongly, this strong-fruity malt with medium-heavy body leads a shadowy existence.
Most of the production ends up in the blends of Bell & Sons, who are also licensees and acquired the distillery in 1933.
Nose: nuts and sherry, with light hints of peat
Taste: full body with a pleasant sweetness and a lot of malt - in the background citrus fruits
Finish: sweet again - reminiscent of sugar syrup, then peat smoke and getting drier

Für mich einer de Besten und bezahlbarsten aus der Flora Fauna Reihe (im Übrigen, eine wunderschöne kleine Distillerie)

Für mich der beste Vertreter aus der Flora und Fauna Serie. Im Geschmack dunkle Früchte, Lebkuchen und Rosinen. Langer, leicht trockener, süßer und leicht rauchiger Abgang.
