Product information "Bruichladdich Double - 3D Moine Mhòr and Rocks 2x 0,7l"
Since the reopening of Bruichladdich by the independent bottler Murray McDavid in 2000 - and especially under the direction of Jim McEwan - the distillery and its whiskey shine like never before.

Jim McEwan - born on Islay and formerly master distiller at Bowmore - made a return to the original and natural in making Scottish whiskey.

For this reason, all bottlings of Bruichladdich are not filtered cool and without dyes.

Bruichladdich Double

3D
"Second Edition - Mòine Mhòr"

Until the early 1960s, all Islay distilleries produced exceptionally peated malt whiskeys.
These whiskeys were almost invariably used for blends and almost never bottled as single malt.
At the beginning of the sixties there was a new fashion trend and many distilleries - including Bruichladdich - used considerably less peated barley.
To commemorate the origins of peaty malts, Jim McEwan created this extraordinary and so far totally unique whiskey - 3D "Second Edition - Mòine Mhòr"!

The term "3D" denotes three different Bruichladdich whiskeys from three different decades with three different peat strengths.

After the great success of the 3D "The Peat Proposal", Jim McEwan created this, even more peaty "Mòine Mhòr" (Gaelic for "The Big Peat" - pronounced "Moyn-iar-vore")

This malt is something completely different than what one of Bruichladdich so far knows.
Compared to the "Peat Proposal", the "Mòine Mhòr" is more punctuated and has 50% vol. a higher alcohol content.

The aroma reveals the peat, but it is very well hidden.
If you nip on it, it begins almost sweetly with some fruity notes - and then it suddenly explodes like a bomb and the peat comes with an incredible force to the fore!

Alcohol content: 50% vol.

Bruichladdich Rocks

Bruichladdich Rocks is a blend of various Bruichladdich vintages matured in French Grenache white wine barrels.

The inspiration for this malt was found by Jim McEwan in the oldest cliffs in Scotland, where the wild Atlantic breaks on Islay's coast.

The goal that Jim McEwan wanted to achieve and has achieved (if not exceeded!) Is a single malt that reflects the rugged beauty of Islay with a rainbow of flavors.

Although ungetorfte barley was used for this malt, one recognizes a significant peat note in the aroma.
The white wine barrels give the Bruichladdich Rocks wonderful fruity aromas.

This malt should absolutely, like everyone else, be enjoyed pure at room temperature.
Of course, if you like you can also drink it on ice (on the rocks).

Content: 0.7l
Alcohol content: 46% vol.
