Glenfiddich Havana Reserve 21 Year Old 40% vol. 0,7l
The Glenfiddich Distillery has been owned by the William Grant family since its founding in 1886.
It was the Grants who launched the very first Single Malt in 1963.
It was decided to take this step as the prices paid by whiskey brokers for the barrels continued to fall.
Many other distilleries and especially blending companies smiled at Glenfiddich for taking this step - one can not seriously expect that there is someone who drinks a single malt!
Only 10 years later, the whiskey industry discovered the potential in single malts and the demand, but by this time Glenfiddich had already become a global brand.
Glenfiddich Havana Reserve Rum finish
This bottling may not be imported into the US, as the whiskey ripened in Cuban rum barrels and the US still has a trade embargo against Cuba!
A wonderful Speysider with a wonderful peppery note, slightly smoky with traces of ginger and other spices.
The finish is wonderfully long and warm.
