Sie ist Heimat einiger der kräftigsten, intensivsten und am stärksten getorften Malt Whiskys: Islay. 
Die Abfüllungen der Hebriden-Insel verdanken ihre Eigenschaften sowohl dem örtlichen Torf, der zum Darren der Gerste verwendet wird, als auch ihrer Nähe zum Meer. 
Faktoren, die den gefeierten Islay Whiskys ihren unverwechselbar maritimen, phenolischen und torfigen Geschmack verdanken.

Der Sehnsuchtsort zahlreicher Whiskyfans ist auch das Zuhause von Smokey Joe. 
Der Blended Malt Scotch Whisky von Angus Dundee (u.a. Besitzer der Glencadam Distillery) ist eine Islay-Essenz: Intensiver Torfrauch verbindet sich mit raffinierten, maritimen Anklängen, Zitrusnoten und Pfefferwürze, die langsam ausklingen.

Die charakteristischen Noten entfalten sich unverfälscht von Kältefiltrierung bei idealer Trinkstärke.

Aroma: deutlich Torfrauch mit frischen Aromen von reifen Zitrusfrüchten und roten Äpfeln - über allem eine leicht salzige Meeresbrise
Geschmack: mundfüllend und kräftig - zu Beginn wieder deutlich der Torfrauch, gepaart mit einer angenehmen Süße - dann würziger werdend mit Noten herber Kräuter und Heidekraut - im Hintergrund grüner Pfeffer
Abgang: mittellanger Abgang - jetzt dominieren Torfrauch und grüner Pfeffer
