The Gauldrons (gälisch für: Bucht der Stürme) ist ein Vatted Malt aus Campbeltown-Malts.
Namensgeber für diesen Blended Malt Whisky aus der Remarkable Regional Malts-Reihe von Douglas Laing sind die dunklen Sandstrände im Westen der Halbinsel Kintyre.

Mit dem schottischen Ausdruck Gauldrons ist in Schottland unweigerlich eine Legende verbunden - so findet man auf der Flasche und der Geschenkpackung ein großes Spinnennetz mit großer Spinne.
König Robert the Bruce verlor an den Stränden von Kintyre eine Schlacht im Kampf um die Unabhängigkeit Schottlands.
Während dieser Schlacht beobachtete Robert the Bruce eine Spinne, die allen wetterbedingten Widrigkeiten zum Trotz versuchte, ihr Netz zu spinnen - und da dies tatsächlich gelang, schöpfte Robert the Bruce hieraus die Kraft, den Kampf um die Unabhängigkeit Schottlands weiterzuführen.

Aroma: eine trockene Salzigkeit, gepaart mit süßem Getreide und Spuren von sanftem Torfrauch
Geschmack: zu Beginn trocken mit maritimen Noten - feuchte Meeresluft und mit Seetang bedeckte Steine - dann gestoßener Zucker, Gerste und Eiche
Abgang: wärmend-würziger Abgang mit rauchigen Tönen, dazu vom Meer umspülte Felsen und eine elegante Süße von dunklem Zucker
