Springbank fills a 12-year-old single malt whiskey in cask strength once or twice a year.
60% Fresh Sherry Hogshead
40% Refill Sherry Butts
Aroma: Sweet at the beginning - clearly fresh orange and honey-soaked honeycombs, with jam and toffee - then aromas of mint, liquorice and dark chocolate develop
Taste: strong and mouth-filling with elegant spicy notes - especially white pepper, some grass and orange peel - very harmonious between sherry, vanilla and oak
Finish: now the typical salt note of Springbank - reminiscent of salted pastry, plus some peat, cocoa and coffee beans

Springbank ist sowieso immer eine Empfehlung. Der 12er CS aber besonders, da intensiv und doch weich, starke Aromen, komplex, süß, rauchig, fruchtig, Vanille - alles da und sowohl mit wie ohne Wasser trinkbar.
