Limited to 12900 bottles, Kilchoman Casado is a vatting of 38 first-fill ex-bourbon casks with an age of six years.

Vatting, also known as marrying, involves blending different whiskey casks together to create a consistent flavor profile. The barrels are carefully selected by a master blender and then blended together in a vat. This process allows the blender to produce a final product with consistent flavor and aroma, balancing the different flavors of each cask. The vatting process can also be used to produce different versions of the same whiskey, such as a cask strength version and a standard version. The vatting process is an important step in producing a high quality and consistent whisky.

The vatting was then aged in two 6,000 liter Portuguese red wine casks each for another two years - then blended and bottled in this limited edition.

• Aroma: in the beginning, the Kilchoman Casado convinces with intense campfire smoke, then aromas of ripe summer stone fruit, especially peach, plum and cherry - followed by intense aromas of marzipan and multilayered maritime notes
• Taste: the red wine brings out pepper and spice in the Casado - dry, salty peat smoke sits on the palate, but behind it again the ripe fruit - apricot and lemon
• finish: a long finish that brings a sharp, spicy character from the blending in Portuguese red wine barrels - stewed, cooked fruit - reminiscent of sweet jam - over all peat smoke
