Koval's Bourbon ist eine Besonderheit - der Maisanteil liegt beim erforderlichen Minimum von 51%, der Rest von 49% wird mit dem für Whisky und Bourbon ungewöhnlichen Getreide Hirse aufgefüllt.
Die verwendete Hirse und der Mais sind Gluten-frei und von Bio-Farmern aus der Region Chicago.

Aroma: deutlich frische Vanille und tropische Früchte - erinnert an Vanillepudding
Geschmack: süß und wärmend mit Noten von frischem Obst und Orangen - dann folgen Karamell und Milchschokolade
Abgang: im Abgang trockener als erwartet mit etwas Holzkohle und getrockneten Aprikosen

Diese Bewertung wurde nicht auf Echtheit geprüft.

Unglücklicher Weise bin ich kein klassischer Bourbontrinker. Dieser hier, mit seinem Hirse-Anteil bis zur erlaubten Grenze von 49%, ist jedoch wirklich klasse. Er besitzt zwar den schweren typisch vanillig-holzigen Bourbongrundton, aber auch eine deutlich nussig-schokoladische Komponente.
