When it comes to casks and their influence on single malt whisky, Billy Walker is undeniably a master of his craft. 
The industry legend goes one step further with his Virgin Oak Series One step further: The whiskies that have been matured in empty oak casks allow discerning fans to explore the taste of oak from all parts of the world unaffected by sherry, wine and co.
 
Scottish oak is rare in whisky aging. Processing them into barrel staves not only requires special skill, they are also rare and expensive. The sessile oak from the Atlantic coast makes The GlenAllachie 8 Year old Scottish Oak Finish an exceptional dram and gives it a delicious sweetness.

  • Nose: strong aromas of roasted oats, caramel and toffee, then aromas of cinnamon, ginger biscuits and heather honey
  • Palate: lots of heather honey, fresh fruit and lemon zest, with white chocolate behind it
  • Finish: long finish with tones of cinnamon and ginger, caramel and Butterscotch
