Liquid Gold Awards 2015

Die Destillerie Stronachie wurde bereits in den 1930er Jahren ein Opfer der damaligen "Whisky-Krise".
Aufgrund von hohen Getreide- und Kohlpreisen musste die Destillerie damals die Produktion einstellen, in den 1950er Jahren schliesslich nahezu vollständig abgerissen.
Heute erinnern nur noch ein paar Mauern in der Nähe der kleinen Stadt Forgandenny im Perthshire in den Highlands daran, welch großer Whisky hier einst produziert wurde.

Heute füllt A.D. Rattray unter dem Namen Stronachie Single Malt Whiskys ab, die dem Stil der Destillerie entsprechen.

Aroma: weiche Honigaromen, erdiges Heidekraut und eine malzige Süße
Geschmack: weich und elegant, wieder Honig und Biskuits, dann Pfeffer und Getreidenoten
Abgang: perfekt ausbalanciert, weicher Abgang
