Gab es Craigellachie bislang nur von den unabhängigen Abfüllern, so gibt es nun endlich den so hoch gelobten Single Malt auch als Originalabfüllung der Destillerie.

Die Destillerie liegt auf einem Hügel im Herzen der schottischen Speyside.
Seit 1891 wird dort Whisky nach traditioneller Methode hergestellt. Seinen einzigartigen Geschmack erhält der Single Malt Whisky durch die zur Kühlung verwendeten geschwungenen Kupferrohre, die sogenannten „Worm Tubes“. Die Malts
erhalten hierdurch ihre charakteristischen fruchtigen Noten.

Der Whisky-Kritiker Jim Murray sagte einmal:
"Craigellachie ziehe ich jederzeit The Macallan vor... Wenn Sie diesen Whisky zum Kauf angeboten bekommen, nehmen Sie, soviel Sie tragen können.
Seine Stärke liegt in der cremigen Weichheit, der Öligkeit, die am Gaumen haftet, so daß auf den langen, süßen Malzgeschmack ein herrlich rauchiger Abgang folgt."

Aroma: süße, gebackene Äpfel und geröstete Marshmallows, dann deutlich Zitrusfrüchte - vor allem Orange und Mandarine
Geschmack: weich und cremig im Geschmack, wieder die Marshmallows und die Mandarinen, dazu süße, frische Feigen und würzige Noten von Zimt und Nelken
Abgang: lang im Abgang, wieder etwas Zitrusfrucht und Würzigkeit, eine leichte Rauchnote
