Portrait: what makes The Glenlee 12 year old so special.

Built in 1896, the Glenlee was one of ten steel sailing ships built by Archibald Sterling & Co. were commissioned. During her service she circumnavigated the world four times and passed the stormy coast of Cape Horn fifteen times. Today she is fully restored on the River Clyde, right next to the Riverside Museum in Glasgow Harbour, and is now a museum ship known as 'The Tall Ship'.

After twelve years in the cask, The Glenlee 12 Year old with soft smoke, dried fruits, vanilla and spices not only invites you to an accessible pleasure experience, it is an exquisite blended Scotch whisky it also has a top price-performance ratio!

Tasting Notes: This is how The Glenlee 12 Year old tastes

  • Nose: soft smoke and dried fruit are present, along with fresh herbs and some vanilla
  • Palate: soft and round - dates and figs are recognizable, and lighter Smoke and spicy notes of fresh herbs - heather honey and bourbon vanilla in the background
  • Finish: medium-length finish with pleasantly spicy notes, the fruits are still present
